“Shea Countdown” Starts On Opening Day

The New York Mets announced the launch of the Lincoln Mercury Shea Countdown, a season long countdown of the games remaining at Shea Stadium starting with the pre-game ceremonies at the home opener tomorrow at Shea.

As part of the previously announced Mets’ pregame salute to William A. Shea, for whom the Mets’ longtime home is named, F. Scott Shea and William P. Anfuso, Shea’s grandsons, will be the Mets first guests in the Lincoln Mercury Shea Countdown.

The Lincoln Mercury Shea Countdown is on the outfield wall to the left of the batter’s eye. The number revealed in the Countdown prior to each game will reflect the game to be played that day or evening.
