That’s FARKed Up

In what sounds like a cop out to fend off the FARK.com campaign to rick roll Shea, the Mets will have a “runoff” to decide what the new stupid 8th inning sing-a-long song will be.

“Never Gonna Give You Up” was the winner of the contest as a write in, with over 5 million votes cast online (presumably mostly for Mr. Astley).

The Mets say that “NGGYU” winning didn’t necessarily result in the runoff, saying the contest rules mention that Internet voters would “help decide”the outcome.

So, every game this week will have one of the top six songs played, with the fan reaction deciding the winner.

The other top songs are (from most votes to least) :

Livin’ on a Prayer, Bon Jovi; I’m a Believer, The Monkees; Movin’ Out, Billy Joel; Sweet Caroline, Neil Diamond; and Build Me Up Buttercup, The Foundations.

  1. They all suck.

I’m a Believer is the best of the lot, imo.

Bring back the Curly Shuffle! 🙂
