Pedro Getting Closer To Coming Back, Just So He Can Get Injured Again

Peter Botte, subbing for Adam Rubin on the Daily News’ Surfing The Mets blog reports that Pedro Martinez (remember him?) threw “his entire repertoire in a 60-pitch session at Tradition Field” today.

It’s probably a safe bet that the next step will involve actual hitters in some form.

Said rehab coordinator Randy Niemann: “He’s progressing nicely at this point. He still has a ways to go. So far, he’s been able to make steps and the next day he’s felt good. This was a big work day and we’ll see how he feels (Saturday). Then we’ll go from there.”

Its only a matter of time before Pedro comes back to the Mets and gets injured again. Man, this rain has got me down.
