UPDATE: Wags Done For Up To One Year

Billy Wagner threw a simulated game in between Sunday’s doubleheader games.  He cut it short after 13 pitches due to what is being called “discomfort” and is likely done for the season.

Wagner, went on the disabled list Aug. 3 with a strained forearm, will meet with with team doctors today in Manhattan but it doesn’t look too good.

UPDATE: Ted Berg of SNY.tv is reporting that Wagner is going to miss up to 12 months with a tear of his flexor pronator and MCL in his left elbow.  The surgery is to be performed this week.

With 1 year left on his contract, we may have seen Wagner pitch his last game for the Mets.

Paging Fransisco Rodriguez…
